Default Looking into a Blazer, need your help.

Hey guys,

I'm looking into buy a Chevy Blazer and am looking into a truck tomorrow.
I've been searching through your forums to see if there's anything I should look for, but it's slightly confusing.

What should I be on the look out? Anything specific?

Here is the truck I'm checking out.

If this is not the correct forum please direct me to the right one.

Thanks in advance for your help!

According to the write up for it , it seems like a pretty good deal. check for rust underneath, leaf spring shackles, body mounts. Make sure 4wd works

That's pretty high for a 19 year old truck, at least around here. I'd offer $1500 cash and walk away if he balked.

Saw the truck this morning. The inside was filthy! The carpet needs to be replaced. The leather though is in good shape and original CD radio is missing *****. The steering is very loose and woobly. Can this be a major issue? It also has some cosmetic problems. The engine is very dusty and dirty but runs well.

It's a CA desert truck so absolutely no rust.

I don't think its worth the $2000 he's offering. I'll offer him $1600 max. I think I'm being fair.

Any other thoughts?

good asking price, you need to replace some steering parts, but they`re fairly easy to change. Idler arm, tie rod, maybe rag joint. Tell him when you offer 1600 that your gonna have to put money into the steering

I think 2K is stable price for a well running vehicle. I think you're right around the mark at offering 16, considering what will have to go back into it. Course it wouldn't hurt to offer 15 and see if he takes it!

If it hasn't had the usual stuff replaced yet, (spyder, fuel pump, intake gaskets, vac lines, etc) expect to have to pay for them yourself. It's right around the mileage that everything starts going bad. Maybe that's why they're selling it?

I wouldn't pay more than around $1500 with a full tank of gas.
