Question maybe my first US car, a used Blazer?

Hi, im thinking buying a 1997 Blazer S10- LT that have gone 279000km (173000miles) ( http://www.finn.no/finn/car/used/vie...nkode=25589593 ) the car is in god condition and it will be used as our 3d car for things like driving to horseriding, skijumping etc. thats need a car with 4x4 becuse of many bad roads. Is it a good choice and could it last for 5-6 year and 15-20000miles without to much repair costs? This will be my first US car ever. What is the biggest diffrence about LT and LS? I have also been looking on a 96 LS (http://www.finn.no/finn/car/used/vie...nkode=25841477) i know the pages is in norweigian, but there are som pictures there.

Best Regards
Per W.

Well, that is quite a few miles on it already, so bear that in mind.

Looks well taken care of. I've had my 95 for about 7 months and 10000 miles. Its going through a rough time and before its all said and done will need a total of 500 to 600 dollars worth of work. But 10000 miles in a 6 month (sat for about a month) period out of a $1600 usd truck I can't complain.

In all honesty, I'd look for something that is very well supported where you are rather than a 13-14 year old Blazer with very little after market support. Not to say either of these vehicles would have anything wrong with them, but even the smallest problems will cost you a lot of dinero. Even if you are capable of doing your own repairs, the price of the repair parts are probably not worth it.

However, if you can get repair parts at a decent price and do know how to turn a wrench, both vehicles look to be in very good shape. You might want to do a little bit of research to find out how much parts support you have and what the prices will be for common parts that tend to wear out.

how long can this cars go when they are in okey condition? Here in Norway a car is much more expensive than in US so most people take god care of there cars. This 14 year old car cost around 11.500 USD and the fuel cost is 8 USD for 1 gallon of gasoline :-(
