Moment of prayer, please
No one was seriously hurt.
After 2 years of searching. Last November I found my 98-S10/SS with a bad motor. Bright red paint with very little rust. It was a true SS find. GU6, G80, ZQ8 Etc. on the service parts ID sticker. Put in a low mile take out motor with all new gaskets, full tune up gear, new oil pump & water pump. I put in new u-joints, motor mounts, all hoses and a new radiator. Rebuilt the transmission with a shift kit and a beast sun shell. Put new bearings in the rear end. New premium brakes, rotors, calipers and hoses. I was looking to get 150k before any real problems came up. Added an aluminum billit grill and clear taillights. Started driving it in February and got about 8K miles on it. Then…
Last night coming home from work a guy on his cell phone came out of nowhere and crossed the double yellow line. I thought “Dude what the hell are you doing?” I tried to swerve and miss him. It started in the left front bumper of my truck, side swiping all the way back. It got deeper and deeper into the truck pushing me over as we went by each other. Catching the driver side rear wheel bending the rear differential tube and breaking off the axle itself. Pushing the tire and wheel under the rear end of the truck. The side of the other car went under the rear with the tire/wheel combo lifting and spinning the truck around. Luckily there was no other traffic for that instant for either of us to do further damage to anyone else. Both parties involved were able to walk away. But the S10 is dead, we need a moment of silent prayer as another little S10 has to go to the nearest scrap yard. I plan on buying the truck back when the insurance company pays. I won’t be resurrecting the truck, but will use the parts I put into it to sell or keep for the next one. I already found a 2001 S10 Extreme with a bad motor for $1000. Now if the guy on Craigslist will just answer the darn Phone..

RidinWithHarry, Yes you are correct sir. Another second later and it could have been a fatal head on collision. Karma my friend is a funny thing sometimes. The other guy had no license, no insurance and felony arrest warrants. So he went to jail and is off the streets for now. He lives in Berkely, MO. The address that he gave is close to the Ferguson MO area of all the rioting that went on, and is still happening to a small degree. A friend looked him on his face book page and he was braggin about some of his part in the riots. If you can't afford the time, don't do the crime....
