Default is my blazer gonna blow up?

okay guys, so my blazer has been making this terrible noise lately,

it's a 1999, with 158k miles.

Everyone i've talked to is saying its a piston rod knocking, but i've located the area of the noise and it's not where a piston rod would be.

The blazer is still driving fine, switches gears (auto tranny) and accelerates fine just like it was before this noise started happening so i don't know what i should do?

(video of noise below)

sound gets worse under acceleration, any idea guys?

cracked flexplate sounds like a rod knock. one thing you can check too (Seen it on fords a few times) is see if all the flexplate to torque converter bolts are tight, if one backed out a bit it might be hitting the bell housing every turn. just look through the inspection hole like your doing and rotate the crankshaft by hand, probably going to need two people for this.

or stick a small pry bar in there and twist the flex plate at them teeth just a little at a time

does it have to be in neutral to be able to turn it?

Well guys, I was on my way taking it to the shop, and when I was heading up a hill a heard a loud *THUMP* from like right under my feet. The car immediately died and loss all power, I pulled over to the side of the road and tried to restart it and absolutely nothing would happen.

Also when I was sitting in traffic at a stand still the oil pressure would drop and the car would just shut off randomly, but would turn right back over.

Is it a flex plate or not?

very possible. The flex plate has the gears that your starter turns. If the flex plate broke off the starter wont turn anything

I had a similar problem with the low oil pressure and engine dying. turned out to be my volatage regulator was bad and would let my engine die. and the low oil pressure was a case of bad main and rod bearings. hope that helps.
