When we bought it gas mileage sucked. Pressure washed the engine went to skipping so bad you couldn't drive it. So did a complete tune up and coil. and last 3 fill ups since tune up has been between 20-23 mpgs depending if me or my wife is driving

got 19 today on a 100 mile round trip, mostly highway, but some in-town driving. has 178,000 on it now, still aint bad for a 5,000 pound brick pushing 200K. best ever ive got was 23. winter i do good to get 15. but theres multiple reasons for that, i just try not to check it during the winter.
03 zr2, 4.3, 3.73's, 4 button t-case, 32x11.5 bfg's on stock wheels. New plugs, wires, k&n drop in, fuel filter, seafoam, cap, and rotor... gas station to gas station on expressway with cruise set at 75 best I saw was 13.4... I did have 4 people with the rear fully loaded with luggage, but I usually don't get any better by myself.
Vehicle has around 89,500 miles on it (and completely stock), and it has been getting 17.3 mpg (70% highway, 30% city) for the 11 years my family has had it from brand new. Can get up to 25 mpg on strictly highway driving at 65 mph.
i get about 18 im all hwy i have a 2 and a 4dr, 2001,2002 both get driven 80 miles a day the 4 dr has a 3.42 and my 2dr has G80 with an ECU overide and it may get 19 if im lucky the 4dr with 3.42 gets maybe 16 both are runnin 2.5 single in/out flows and are 4x4 gas is 3.95 here and it sucks. gonna have to find ways to get mileage, hell maybe swap a 2.2
if it gets that bad..........hmmm

This is something I've paid attention to from day one of my 205k mi., auto. '97 4dr., 2wd Blazer. Engine was running fine although both 'check engine ' & 'ABS' lights on. Right off the bat, I was getting 17.5+ mpg heavy city. If I could stretch out the stops somewhat city driving, I was in the 20 mpg range. The truck had 100k mi. on the previous tune up which included new wires. I replaced air filter with a new standard Fram. SuperTech for oil & filter. Champion copper plugs gapped at .049 in. New (came with the truck) Goodyear Viva 2 '205-75-15' tyres pumped up to 34.5 psi. No real difference between my tune up versus the way it was in gas mileage. My personal best has been '22.25 mpg', being more highway than city. This is with the A/C off (in my case-broken) I have yet to take it on a dedicated highway run, but if I had to guess, 24 to 25 mpg best case scenario, based at 60 mph. One day I'll test that guess (based on my vehicle). Oh, the check engine & ABS light? Got tired of the black tape hiding them, so, I removed the tape, and the bulbs. Out of sight, out of mind. ps.....My mileage is coming from eastern Virginia, sea level conditions. This is running the 90/10 ethanol blend, 87 octane. In the 1980s, this stuff was called 'Gasahol'. I'll bet that if I was allowed to fuel up with 100% fuel (no alcohol), I could increase my miles per gallon by one to two miles.
