Default Project time?

2000 slt (black one) fully loaded got every option there possibly could be and a 2001 diamond edition (tan). the black one the frame is questionable but it got a state inspection for the year so I'm good ill make it look okay i guess. the tan one the frame is mint no rust what so ever i owned it since brand new well taken care of. unfortunately a little black ice on a dark wooded road in far eastern Maine got me. i think i see a project in the near future? any ideas?~~Aaron

Welcome to the forum. Glad you're ok. I prefer the grille and hood on our jimmys as well. Since the slt already has the diamond edition push bar the diamond pattern interior would match and the donor frame would keep the inspector happy. It would be good for your diamond edition that you've had since new to live on in the slt.

Thank you for the reply. Exactly what i had in mind with the interior swap. everything so far bolts right up. I have not swapped the interior yet except for the removal of the bose system, I had to modify the center console i wanted more space in the center for an inverter and a few switches, plugs, etc. New 0 gauge run to the center. With the frame id like to pickle it and use bed-liner paint to finish, Id like to refresh the entire drive train, 2.5 inch suspension lift and 2.5 inch body lift with some 33/10.5/15 tires, and a true dual exhaust. i plain on it being done by the end of summer/beginning of fall. parked for the winters and maybe taken to a few shows or mud runs. I'm also considering swapping to a 5 speed but don't know much on what will work and what wont.

Project diamond in the rough? It sounds like you will be able to make one really nice truck out of the two of them!. I love the diamond edition roof racks and interior. Definitely looking forward to watching the progress, and welcome to the forum!

i am going to post as much as i can during the process but i think it will come out looking pretty decent. i started taking the interior out of the diamond edition i like the roof racks but the center bars got bent up but might be still usable.

I absolutely love the Diamond Editions.

I have been actively looking for one (to harvest parts for my Blazer) for the last 3 years.
Found one in Lincoln, NE at the man mall a couple years ago...but the door panels were gone, and the driver seat torx bolt would not budge.

The chase continues.

Good luck with your rig.
