Rear clunking upon acceleration
I have a 2002 4 door chevy blazer that is making a clunking noise from the rear when accelerating starting anywhere from 0-10 mph. Could it be the driveshaft, and is there any repairs that don't require totally replacing the driveshaft?
Block the tires, put the tranny in neutral, spin the drive shaft. If it moves any at the rear diff, the rear u-joint needs replaced. If it doesn't move, jack up the rear end (front tires blocked), tranny in park, spin the drive shaft. If there is any movement at the front, then front u-joint needs replaced.
