Default rear window defog repair

does anyone know about those rear window defog repair kits they sell??? i got three grids that got a lil slice in them and stopping them from working. i went to get the kit and a guy said they work like crap, and once they get hot itll just melt off, basically a big waste of time and money.. id really like to fix them,, any ideas?? thanx in advance for any help

get that it works if done properly I sell it all the time and I used it on my truck to repair a tab and the grid a few weeks ago
