Default Rebuild Engine or Buy a New One?

i am new to this but i own a 95 blazer it has 200,000 miles on it and i need sum advise should i rebuild the 4.3 or buy a new one thanks jon

That would depend on what is wrong with the engine now. If it is just a bit tired, a rebuild would probably be much more economical and have the same results.

i thought so to but alot of my family are in to cars and the keeptelling me that its a throw away motor but i just was not for sure

if i had a motor that old, id be looking at getting performance parts for it and rebuild it when i can find the time or buying lets say a 350 long block while the 4.3 is still in the truck and put it in when the i have the time.

you never really answered the question blazerpimping.

is the motor shot?

on it's way out?

or are you just one of those people who think high mileage is bad, regardless of how the engine is actually running.
