Question Removing ZR2 tire rack???

Anybody know how to do this without taking the mounts out of the quarter panel. I couldnt find nothin on google. But i took the tire and the lock rings off and pounded on the pins with a hammer and brass and it didnt move. Ive seen blazers without these so i know it can be done but my dad is thinkin the pins are factory pressed. Any help yall can provide is well appreciated

I wish I had the tire mount on the back...lol I would think you would have to drill out the mounting holes and weld them up but i dont know for sure since I dont have one like that.

Mine was gone when I got it. It was shaved and glassed over like it was never there. Now I get to carry my spare inside which sucks.

It's definitely possible...there is one around town with it done. I'd take the whole thing off and try and drill the hinges. Once you get it out you can then put the brackets back on the quarter panel.

the two pins have little c-clips on the bottom. take a screw driver and pop it out. then beat it with a hammer. Why do you need to remove the pins if your taking the whole thing off? Just unbolt the whole thing.

it might be easier to take the whole thing off to get the bottom pin out. Then put it back on. Theres no room to swing a hammer.
