Default Spare on Roof

I got some 600 pound, 10 foot ratchet tie down strapes.. will these work? Lots of people told me ratchet scraps can hold the tire up there. Just want to be sure these will work, if not I can return them

when i was riding with spare on roof i ran just like that....i wrapped the straps thru the wheel and then anchored at the corners where the rack mounts to roof.
i figured it was the strongest point to anchor. i went about 7 months like that no problems.

Yeah definitely anchor at the corners where it bolts to the roof. I would have gotten black (or in my case, red) so it would blend with the truck and be less visible

all walmart had for a decent price

Anyone know if it's illegal in NY to have it on your roof?

I've never heard of legal issues anywhere with a spare tire on the roof. I know there are laws about lights on the roof being for offroad use only but I think you should be okay with a tire.
