Default Stock CD Player

I just picked up a 1999 Blazer and have a question about the stock cd player. Will the stock players not play CD's that I burn? It seems to play pre-recorded cd's fine, but skips all over the place when I try to play one I recorded. [sm=boosign.gif]Just wondering.... Thanks!

it should. Sometimes formating is an issue....also disc quality is an issue...also think about cleaning it...

Your not trying to play Mp3 CD's right? It should work fine all the CD's I have burned work perfect only had it not work once or twice.

Most stock headunits are hit or miss as to their ability to read cdr discs. The vast majority of them read burned discs just fine, but I have been fortunate enough to find quite a few that would not. Fortunately, the last couple of GM vehicles I have owned did not exhibit this problem.

Could be disc, how fast you burned it, lens needs cleaning. Lots of things can cause this unfortunately. I think my last pack of blank Memorex discs were faulty or something. They play scratched in almost all CD players i try.

my old 96 grand am had the same issue, sometimes it was the cd itself or how i burned it. i would say save up a few bucks and go for a new deck, you can even get a cheap one from like walmart that will play anything from burned, mp3s, ipod hookup. i think i remember seeing one at walmart once for like 100 bucks. i dont know what kind of quality you are lookin for but if your just wanting cds in the ride it would be decent enough
