I've driven almost 3 million miles(accident free!) and have only hit wildlife maybe 5 times. So I now have hit my 3rd deer in less than 2 months all with the same 97 Jimmy. It was fine the first & second time because I had all the parts in stock,but this last one did a lot more damage;I had a bent bumper and broken grille that I had to put back on it just to make it look OK-anyway I must say that these are the perfect units to hit deer with! The first one ran off,I killed the 2 others and I never even slowed and the unit barely flinched @ impact! And in all cases the headlamps remained working,broken capsules:but working!
But now I have a still good running unit that looks cheesy,guess I'm gonna move to the Ford camp for a while,my Lincoln has been great and I just found an 89 Country Squire with only 100k for $3000. The 66 C1404 is staying,I've owned it 41 years. Happy Holidays All!
