Thinking about selling...
#21
I still say that my 02 Z28 is a muscle car...
LS1 all aluminum V8 that I currently have putting out 425HP, 6 speed manual tranny, 3:42 Torsion locking rear end... It will spank pretty much anything on the street and pass a smog test.
To me any year model V8 Camaro, Mustang, Challenger, Corvette, etc... is a muscle car... What are we gonna call the newer ones in 20 or 30 years?

To the OP: If you sell and go with a Mopar, I am envious of you. I'm a die hard GM guy, but I gotta admit it was the old school Hemis that sparked my love for engines.

............. A STOCK hemi would put out 425hp as Dodge used to advertise, but more recent dyno tests showed they were a little low with their rating
. Also that's the perk of owning a true muscle car, don't have to deal with smog crap, pay your registration and drive along haha.
yeah, one of my Mopar mags did a dyno a few years ago on a "stock" build of a Hemi, and it dyno'd out @ just under 520hp @ 63 or 6400rpm. i mentioned "stock", since no one-outside of the builders-know for sure if nothing was "teaked" before the engine was buttoned up.
kinda crazy what they got away with back in the day, eh?
while the "hemi head" design was started with an inverted V-16 aircraft engine in 1942 and numerous small block Hemi's in the late 40's & through the 50's, don't forget about the 413 Max Wedge, that's what started it back up for the 426 Hemi!

Yup yup, I'm glad someone else on the forum understands what I'm saying and can elaborate it a little more for the other viewers.
See but just because it's a mopar doesn't mean Hemi only.. you can make plenty of power with simple builds on a small block, just gotta know what your doing and buy the right equipment

i had a 318 in my 1st Dart that would just out pace a buddy of mine & his '80 4 speed Z28. he only got away on the top end.
running 3.91's on a small 14" tire, kinda runs you up to the top of the RPM's quick!

Haha I bet it would, my buddy had a junk yard 318 that he threw a bigger cam in, car literally had to turn over for 10-15 seconds to build compression before it fired, in his Duster. Damn thing actually ran pretty strong and beat a lot of stuff that nobody thought it would.
As for what actual car I want, who knows. I'll know the car when I see it, all depends on the opportunity and my price range, especially since I don't even know what I could get out of my blazer.

but from the moment i saw it sitting there with a for sale sign on it, i knew i had to have it. been hooked ever since.
and i think half of the reason that 318 of mine would haul so hard was, i was running a 750 DP Holley on it, re-jetted up 6 sizes (definately wasn't made for fuel economy

Lol well that's obvious, M.assively O.ver - P.owered A.nd R.eliable
Yep I've been raised around mopars my whole life, almost everyone on my dad's side of the family has one, barracudas, darts, dusters, roadrunners, you name it one of them had it at one point or another haha.
Yea all the important and fun cars in life are never built for fuel economy. If your going for MPG's stay out of the game lol.
