Default towing question

hi everyone, I own a 00' GMC jimmy 4dr 4x4 and from my understanding I can town up to 5,000LBS. with that being said can I tow a 02 blazer 4dr 2x4? I'm asking because i am gonna be moving out of state by the end of the year and have to take both SUV's, and no. I will not sell one because i have WAY to much money invested into it.

I understand about the trans cooler, I plan on adding a aftermarket one anyway. I've towed a Trailblazer EXT with a 02' jimmy and it performed good, but it was only for 100 miles, not the 750 miles ill be towing the blazer for.

Please dont say "ship the truck" or "just drive the truck" I'm only 17 and cant afford to drive both, it will cost me about 350$ to drive the jimmy with the blazer behind it from what i read.

also, if i tow anything the Jimmy is in Tow/Haul mode. from my understand if I add the Trans cooler and keep the speed under 70, I "should" be fine.

What would you guys do? Please keep in mind that im not going to have alot of cash to tow the thing up there with, so the cheapest i found is to buy a tow bar, and flat tow the truck up there

Sounds like you got a plan I would check all the connections at every gas station and check fluids but that's just me

I plan on checking everything, just because that's how I am. Do you think it would be a good idea to add a transmission temp. gauge? I ask because I can get a deal on a trans cooler, and the gauge. I think it would be cool to see the trans temps. Also, the gauge glows red if it gets near/in the red zone, and when its normal it has a green glow to it.

Also, would it be a good idea to put a fan on the trans cooler? For the 1st 2 or 3 hours of me driving its a lot of speeding up and slowing down (45 to 75 to 45 ect), and I'm scared of the trans getting to hot and burning up on me on the way up there, which would be bad.

Trans cooler is always a good idea with a temp gauge is better, I my self don't think a fan would be necessary because it's going to be moving so air would still be passing through the fins
