I would love to guys! but I mean, those gas prices arent very pretty right now, and i really dont have too much extra to spend. My main focus is finding a decent used 4.3, fixing it up a bit, and replacing it asap.

Why not just rebuild your motor. Pullr apart and use what you can and replace what has to be replaced. Driving like that though probably did even more damage but i bet theres some things that can be reused in a rebuild. Id take motor out and strip it down to just heads, block and oil pan and take to your favorite machine shop. This would probably be the most economical way of doing a rebuild and the shop can recommend what upgrades you can do and make the motor your way.

You'd essentially have a new motor if you went that route.
#34
yeah, im feeling a rebuild.
#35
what do you guy think could have punched that hole in it? vortec said the connecting rod, anything else?
#36
Connecting rod is what I am thinking also.
#37
well, if you rebuild may i suggest some over boring in it?
#38
if you broke a rod chances are theres damage to the cylinder bore thats not going to be able to be corrected by over-boring it.
#39
vortec, what do you suggest i do next? pull my motor?
