what have you gotten done on your blazer today?
Next thing to do is buy new ball joints , hubs, and axles
You had me stumped at first! Gotcha now!!! Luckily it's not a daily driver so the wear should be somewhat minimized... Well, my excuse is to level out the front end. Next is alignment shop from what I understand?

Just bought the 6" Fabtech lift from http://4wheelonline.com/Fabtech_Suspension_Lift_Kits.31. I chose it because of the deal I got. I'm planning to fit 35's after I'm done installing this kit.

Well it turns out the blower motor had more than just a ground issue. After 26 years, this thing has taken it's last circular trip. When I removed it, it would only run on a battery if I held it in a certain position. After I removed the plastic squirrel cage, I could see how deep the brushes wore into the commutator - at least 1/8"! Never seen that in my life! This thing had some SERIOUS miles on it. Just backs up my belief that although the odometer on this thing read 77k miles when I bought it, it was really 277k miles ... especially after seeing inside the original engine! Plus the fact that I've had a few odometer failures - odometers do NOT fail ... unless they've been tampered with ....
I had the old blower motor out of our long-since-scrapped '87 Cavalier, so figured I was home free. Installed the thing, fired it up, and immediately realized that I never checked the direction of rotation! That makes a HUGE difference in airflow! Pulled it back out, and sure enough, it was rotating clockwise, while the 1st gen Blazer motors rotate counter-clockwise. Doh!
Went to Advance Auto and picked up a new Chiwaneese blower motor for $16, after tax and coupon codes.
All is well again.

Fitted my new Timken front hubs today - whole job done in 2hrs - boy what a difference, quietest the truck has been in a long time.
Next job will be lower intake gaskets replacement, been weeping coolant for a while. Hasn't got any worse but job definitely needs doing. Wondering if it might stop an elusive misfire I get for the 1st half mile or so from a cold start? Fitted new plugs, cap, wires & rotor arm a while back but made no difference.
Gonna wait for slightly warmer weather 1st though.
