Replaced the lift supports on the glass and the drop gate. On the glass, my model (1998 LT) had wrist pins with push nuts where the lift support attaches to the glass. By the time I pried them off they were unusable so I went and got some 1" 10-24 Phillips head bolts and some stop nuts to replace the wrist pins. Had to bore the holes slightly because of the threads but it worked like a charm. When I open the glass I only have to give it the slightest nudge and it goes up.
Am happy 😁
Added coolant. It was STUPID low... I feel kind of bad for not checking it before. Been noticing the temps climbing a little, at first just when stopped and idling like in a drive through, but recently they seemed to be higher even when cruising around. I put probably a gallon, maybe a gallon and a half, into the radiator... The overflow tank was still full. Not really sure where it's going, no obvious leaks, it's not mixing with the oil. The only thing I can think of is that it's the intake gasket seeping coolant into an intake runner... But I have a new lower intake that I need to install anyhow (thermostat mounting boss is cracked and is currently held together with a C-clamp lmao), I already have the new gaskets and everything to do the job, just been putting it off. I guess I have a new reason to "expedite" that repair...
Mine was doing that before I did my gaskets it would seep out and burn a tiny bit not enough to throw any smoke but seeped enough that I put dye in and it was all over the front of the block and along the intake when I finally did the gaskets I noticed the dye in the oil it had just started to leak more
300k km and stock gaskets they fell apart in pieces
found it more tedious then difficult a lot of stuff to move out of the way and having a shop vac helps
Took my "new" replacement intake manifold to work today and hit it with our strong degreaser and bad @$$ pressure washer. Going to tackle it's replacement Saturday evening hopefully (gotta work Saturday morning, so there's a good chance I just won't feel like messing with it after work, we'll see lol)

that intake doesn’t look like it has egr is it possible to change the intake to a non egr cause I have egr on mine but I have 2 extra intakes and one is non egr
After I bought my 2004 blazer w/135k on the clock, a/c worked (sorta) blower fan noisy, removed fan and discovered an animal nest in the fan/evap. Then in summer it would overheat changed fan clutch, no help. Took radiator for a good cleaning. simply amazing how well it works when coolant can circulate. Don't waste your money on those bottles of rad. cleaner

when I did my intake gaskets there was a mouse nest under my distributor that had been there since before I got it. Had no idea it was there, I got the truck from an old lady on a farm it was her second vehicle and didn’t get used anymore

I'm not really sure. My 04 doesn't have EGR, thus why I acquired this intake to replace the one on it now with the broken thermostat mounting flange.
I would only imagine that you could, then just plug the EGR pipe on the exhaust manifold or replace it with a manifold without the EGR pipe provision. Not sure what you would do about the electrical connectors though, leaving them unplugged might throw a check engine light on?

I’d just leave the egr valve plugged in and tucked away lol
