Oil, lube and filter, and checked front diff oil level so far. Need to pick up a fuel filter (god I hate changing those out) and need to check the rear axle gear oil level. I'll be doing a drain and re-fill of the transfer case too.

I bought a replacement spare 30 by 9 and 1/2 15 and had it mounted on my rim. the guy gave me five bucks for my basically brand-new 235 70 r15 lol. Aaaand it's official... I absolutely need a tire carrier because the 30 by 9 and 1/2 doesn't fit underneath between the rear diff and the hitch bar. Any sellers? I thought about just buying the three-lug Jeep wrangler door mount but I don't think I would find gas arms heavy enough to lift the decklid LOL. And I also just realized the bolt pattern might not work.

Best bet is hunting junkyards or Craigslist. I found mine on CL from a dude that was parting out his '99.

I’ve been hunting forever the one time I found one at the wreckers it also had full skid plates on it and it was 20 for all the plates or 20 for the carrier and I had to choose the skid plates for the protection

yeah I've been on the constant hunt around mine but we don't even see any of the ZR2 anymore out here in mid-Michigan for some reason (read Here salt rotted them away 10 years ago) 🤬

I think the rear tire carriers really are the hardest part to find on these. At least with skid plates you could fabricate your own. I imagine you can with a carrier too it'd just be an order of magnitude more expensive.

I hear ya. I learned the same thing about trying to store a 30x9.5R15 under the rear bumper. I was to mount my spare tire carrier this summer but... COVID.

I had to drive about 150 miles one way to get mine. All of the u-pull yards in my area had none. You can try to scour your local yards if you can get the VINs of the vehicles in stock. That is how I found if the u-pull yards had any Blazers with a rear carpet like mine. It saved a lot of time. Some of the GM parts retailers allow searched by VIN. (https://www.gmpartsxperts.com/) This way you can go through the VINs of the available 2 doors and see if an external tire rack is listed as a part for that vehicle. The 2-doors had VINs that look like (1,4)G(K,N)D(S,T)18(W/X)#######. It is the '8' in the 7th digit that tells you it is a 2dr. (BTW, the 1 in 7th digit is always there so look for the "18".)

Found this on Craigslist in New York state. Maybe the guy would agree to ship it or something. It's about an hour from me:

If it's about an hour, just make the drive. Gas will be cheaper than the shipping.

Should also take the sun visors if they're in good condition.
