I have a rattle coming from that area. did you happen to stick your hand in there and feel around for anything that may come loose?

Got a skid plate on him FINALLY! I've had him since 2019 but it was missing for years before that. Cleaned up the metal and sprayed rust reformer and then weather resistant paint all over that before putting the plate on.

Looking for a transfer case plate next. Not sure if they differ between the 3 door and the 4 door but they look like they bolt up the same way.

Nice. There is a difference between the transfer case plates depending if it is a 3-button or 4-button type.

Oh I did find a loose screw between the plastic outer casing and the outside of the blower motor. I also noticed an annoying rattling noise. Since I removed it and replaced the blower motor there is no more rattle. The screw was the same as the ones that attach the blower motor, but all those screws were accounted for. Someone in the original manufacturing must have dropped it and decided to leave it and just put in a new one. Haha.

My '97 base 3-door has the 4x4 stick on the floor so I'm guessing it's a 3. For example would a transfer case plate from a 2002 4-Door 4x4 Blazer work?

You're lucky you have one of the floor shift models. I'm putting one into my S10 to replace the vacuum setup. I'm relatively sure either 3 or 4 button will fit your application.

Obliged. I'm sure it's the same regardless.

Unfortunately that's all you can do to make sure.

Default Installed front E Brake Cable.

I have started the process of putting my 89 S15 Jimmy back together. I started with replacing the front E Brake cable. This was a real PIA. The removal of the cable was extremely difficult as you have to disengage the cable inside the dash with very little room to work. The cable only comes out one way. You have to get the retaining fingers to compress so you can remove the cable. After many attempts with various tools I was able to get the old cable out and the new cable in. The ferrule still had to be positioned into the brake pedal. The ferrule is under spring tension and there is very little room on the brake pedal area. After struggling with how to accomplish this I ended up using a long nose needle pliers and grabbing the end of the ferrule and was able to get the ferrule into the brake pedal slot.
