Ordered B&M 70255 - B&M SuperCooler Oil Coolers - Overview - SummitRacing.com as per Kyles suggestion.
Should help keep the trans temps down on the $1800 rebuilt/built up trans. So I want to make sure it's protected.
The shop that rebuilt it said they put the same shift kit, servo, belts etc that they do for fullsize chevy's that play in the mud all day. It can handle over 350HP now, so I don't have to worry about the transmission failing me.
<edit> I just looked on ebay... for the same cooler a company wants $61.32 CAN + shipping. US shipping is $20 so to get it here it would probably be $40 or more. I got mine from Summit with shipping UPS standard 4 day for $83 CAN.

Well I only ordered it today but I'm expecting that with it installed it won't allow the trans temp to get past a certain point.
Possibly with yours it's doing just what it should - not allowing the temp of the ATF to get too high. The ATF temp will get to a certain point (depending on the effective cooling BTU's of the cooler) & that's where the temp should stay. Unless you're climbing mountains with a heavy trailer in tow etc.

As for me, found the source of the ticking sound thats been getting louder and louder over the past few months (in whistler its been very cold so havent had to use the ac), but the ac compressor went and made a horrible noise. So went to the junkyard picked up a new compressor from an 04 that had less than 30,000km on it, threw it in put in some r12a

Nice, the one I put in looks a bit bigger than that one, but then again im hauling close to 2000 lbs over mountain passes, when i come back will run with the scanner in to watch the tranny temp. Do you know how many BTU the one your getting is?
