what have you gotten done on your blazer today?

Detailed the blazer with Mother's Clay Bar kit. The paint feels smooth like a baby's butt! Also helped my friend with getting some slotted rotors on his blazer. Same ones I got from brakeperformance.com. Next weekend, we'll be doing our calipers.

Replaced my 96 2dr blazer with a 2002 Black Onyx 2dr ZR2. 149000 miles, but came out of Florida, and chassis looks almost as clean as a new one. Couple minor issues, flakey VSS to replace tomorrow. Had the worn BFG's replaced with Uniroyal Liberator AT's today. Rides about a hundred times better.
Paid 4700 for it. Been looking for a clean one for some time. No corrosion anywhere on it.

Replaced the VSS sensor tonight, no more erratic speedometer, no more erratic shifts, no more low speed actuation of the ABS system, no more ABS light.
I noticed on the old sensor, there was some metal filings, possibly could have created some type of interference??? Didn't bother cleaning it, just installed a new one. Was able to remove the old sensor without dropping the skidplate. Took five minutes to change it.

today i drove mine to pick up a steering pump for the dodge. She is slipping gears. shes got me worried a bit. Maybe i'll do a tranny pan change. I dunno. I'm close to selling her cheap enough to rid of it and buy me something else. I cant keep dumping money in it.
On the bright side ive got gin and hamburger helper tonight.

Finally got started on my half-assed (just gaskets, oil pump & timing set) engine build.
Installed a Comp Cams timing set yesterday. It's amazing the stock set lasts as long as it does. It's about 1/3rd the weight & thickness of the Comp setup! I shouldn't have to EVER replace this again.
Had about 1" of slop, so it was a ticking time bomb ... and even more so since it's carbureted, and doesn't always idle smoothly when first started. That puts a load on the set that it wasn't designed for, since this engine was designed & built for FI only.
Next up for today - clean oil pan, & plastic timing cover, replace seal in cover, re-install, then check oil pump/screen clearance to pan & crank.
Comp Cams setup:

Stock vs. Comp -no comparison!
