Default Why is this unit so reiliable?

I rescued a 97 Jimmy from the salvage yard 2 1/2 years ago. After replacing all the necessary items, the unit still runs flawlessly! None of of the usual 4.3 issues! This is turning out to be the best car I have ever owned! Why would someone junk a road worthy car? Amazing!

Every vechile I own (and most of my vechiles of the past) was on the hook to get scrapie way before I rescued them. Some mistakes, others served nice service lives. You can get a jem sometimes.

all 3 of my trucks were basically throw aways. my 86, someone bought, stripped the drivetrain out of it and i saved it from the scrapper for 300 bucks. about 3 years ago still have it

my 90 same thing, was a fleet truck, owner died, company was gonnna junk it my boss bough it and i bought it off him for 300, that was 2 years ago still have it

and my 93 s10, had a bad trans, craigslist ad. basically said 350$ is what its worth in scrap and the owner didnt want to junk it cause it ran good. 4 years later still have it.

dang, i never really sat down and thought abou tit, i drive some junks lol

even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes.

i bought my rig off the economy lot (100k and change on it already) over 7 years ago...loved it since i got it.
i have put over 130k on it with what i think is pretty much just routine maintenance.
wouldnt trade it for anything.

I own my 03 with 70K on it. I do prevenative maintenance and doing that I hope to get another 100K out of it. My only Battle is the a/c, everything else is cheap to repair.
