Hey all, first time poster. Great forum.

I have a 1998 4.3 Vortec. It's leaking coolant from the area where the radiator intake hose comes off metal (I don't even know what it's called = newbie) before traveling to the radiator. When I start the engine, the thing leaks like a sieve. About 5 months ago, I had the lower intake manifold gasket redone (so says my sales receipt). Is this the same thing they fixed?

 

First thing to check is the clamp that holds the hose on, and make sure the hose isnt cracked. Which side of the radiator does the hose go to? This will help figuring out which metal part it is coming from. Looking at the engine from the front of the car, the left hose comes from the water pump and goes to radiator, the right hose goes from the thermostat to the radiator.
