My uncle who was an accident reconstructionist has a business that downloads the data onto paper using graphs and such to use in court. I've seen one. It showed when this individual braked, how much foot pressure, i.e 100% or none. And which air bags deployed, and when.

All this **** can be used to help someone in court or, heh heh, used against one.

I was told if the air bag lamp was on, the recorder isn't working. Dunno if thats true or not.

Yes, all G.M. vehicles with air bag systems have an SDM...by the way it's a silver box...not black.
