Electrical Problem
On my way back from up north(really bumpy roads so im assuming this is how the problem started) my engine light would flash on and off and my battery light would flash on and off a couple times a minute and when this would happen my truck would stall for the time the lights would flash... but they wouldn't always flash at the same time... somtimes the battery would flash and somtimes the engine light would flash... also when this would happen my RPM needle would jump up to past the rev limiter until I couldn't see it anymore, and my battery needle would jump up and down. I think its because I knocked somthing loose on the rough roads but im not sure. I was just wondering if you guys could give me some ideas so I won't have to pay some mechanic 400 bux to check out my electrical stuff to find out its a loose plug or somthing. Thanks. Any questions or anything just ask and i'll answer them as good as I can.
Sounds like a loose connection.
Places to check, clean and tighten.
Both battery terminals, and if you have an AC Delco battery that is roughly 4 years old, disconnect it, and check the contacts/posts.
Check the red battery wire down to the starter, check the connection at the starter.
Check the wire coming off the alternator to the battery. Check both ends.
Plus I highly recommend you slow down on teh bumpy roads.
