engine light flashing
I would find someone with an OBDII scanner to see if the computer has stored codes, these don't set off the engine lights but are stored in memory, if the problem that caused the flashing engine light is not corrected or gets worse then it will turn the light on. If it fixes itself or was just a temporary situation the code will be removed from the computer after a predetermined set of "drive cycles". Some times this can be as little as three starts and stops or I have read that some codes will take 40+ "drive cycles" to self remove after setting the light... so if the light stays off in the same situation then the problem will have been temporary and the computer will not set a more permanent code...
AutoZone has been known by many to check codes for free...that is one avenue to get them checked without paying the dealer a fine for hooking up the scanner....
