HEY magtec i just got my truck back & they said the converter is plugged. they want $ 745 to replace the converter to the tailpipe & o2 sensor. I said no thanks i can repair myself around $300.

sorry i wasn't able to respond sooner. the fact that the engine operation didn't change when you plugged the tailpipe means that there is an obstruction in the exhaust system, usually it's a clogged catalytic converter or muffler. hopefully the shop diagnoisis is correct. have you removed the converter yet to see if the engine runs better?
side note: don't forget to change the transmission fluid.

No it's too cold outside. maybe tomorrow if i have time. A friend wants me to replace a starter on his car. I let you know. thanks
