Default RE: Gauge Help

We are definitely not talking about the same wire then. The purple/white I speak of is on the vehicle wiring, not the HU. And this is the dimming signal for the LEDs in the stock HU. After looking at the wiring diagram, this is not the wire you want. The orange wire you speak of (again on the vehicle) is the RDO BATT (fuse 19 - 15A) wire and is hot at all times. The dark green wire is the RDO IGN (fuse 24 - 10A) and is hot in ACCY, RUN, and RAP. The wire you want to be looking for is the gray wire and it is the ILLUM (fuse 12 - 10A) and is hot when the headlights switch is in PARK or HEAD.

Now that is for a 2000 Bravada, but I do not think that they changed the wire colors at all. And ofcourse, if you are talking about wire colors for the HU, all bets are off.

Ok, Jon, the blue/white wire or the blue from your stereo should be connected to the remote turn on for your amp. In the factory harness, there is a brown wire that is the dmmer.
