I do a seafoam treatment every month or so too.

RE: Hypertech Tuning a Hoax
I remove the hose off of the PCV valve (drivers side valve cover) and put a small funnel into the hose. Start the engine and lock the throttle in at 1500-2000rpm to keep the engine from dying. I put 2/3 of the can in this way, then the other 1/3 I dump into the intake with someone else trying to start it (without the MAF sensor hooked up, it will probably not run). Let it sit for a good 30-45 minutes and then go ram the crap out of it. Drive around wildly (but safely) until the smoke clears from the tail pipe. Don't red line it or anything, just run it hard.
After this treatment, the plugs should really be checked and cleaned/regapped. Or just outright replaced, whichever you have the $$$ for.

What about running it through your gas? Would you recommend doing the "full" seafoam treatment by running it through the gas too?

RE: Hypertech Tuning a Hoax
You can run it through your gas tank too. I do the treatment by taking the boot off the throttle body and pouring it in and then will stall the engine. Wait 5 to 10 minutes and start it up. You have to do it when the engine is @ operating temps and quickly cuase when boot is off it will stall.

NEW HYPERTECH INFO
Ok, I was considering what was said about the engine detecting detonation and setting back the timing, so I decided that the best way to test this would be to simply run a high octane.
So, I ran 91 octane gas with the 87 octane tuning. I figured that by choosing an octane even higher than the recommended I would ensure there would be no detonation. I also decided to run the hypertech tests first, on the colder engine. The engine was running at normal operating temperature before the first run was ever done.
The results really astonished me...
My numbers came to:
136 hp
131 hp
127 hp
137 hp
127 hp
Avg with stdev: 132 hp +- 5 hp
I was suprised at the increase already, but in order to be certain there was an increase, I set the car back to stock.
Stock numbers:
110 hp
118 hp
107 hp
114 hp
118 hp
Avg with stdev: 113 +- 5 hp
Unfortunately, I did not have enough time to set the power tuning settings back and do 5 more runs on a hot engine. But there was obviously a large increase.
For my first run of tests (the first post of this thread) there was a 3 hp average drop from the first set of runs to the second set of runs (the stock runs, not the hypertech). Applying this loss from cooling issues, the first run of Hypertech tests would drop to 129 +- 5.
With this drop included, I picked up 15 hp at the wheels (129-113). These are, of course, preliminary tests, and probably do not represent the true gain. But I consider anything above 5 hp for a $150 item to be significant...

Get a hot cam.
And install it in a LT1 Camaro.
