RE: Maybe Fuel Pump maybe Timing???
The rotor is held on with 2 screws
Remove the underhood electrical center cover.
Remove the fuel pump relay. The location is indicated on the electrical center cover

OK clear on the rotor.
Where is the underhood electrical center cover?
I'd like to check the relay first before i go ahead and buy a fuel pump

RE: Maybe Fuel Pump maybe Timing???
OK so heres the update after working on the truck for a while.
I found the fuel pump relay. It was all burned out. I reconnected it, tried starting but still no cigar.
I bypassed the fuel pump relay and still no crank.
I think im getting fuel pressure, but i put in starting fluid just to check it out. Still no start.
I'm getting spark from the distributor, and the coil. I pulled out a plug and i realized that my engine is flooded.
Tomorrow im gonna take out all the plugs and crank the engine for a while to clean out the engine and unflood it.
Then i'll try to put in new plugs and see if it fires up. If it fails out on me again, then i will presume its the fuel pump.
Does any one have any advice, input, ideas, suggestions??? any would help.

RE: Maybe Fuel Pump maybe Timing???
my fuel pump went bad...i got by for a week by taking a rubber mallet to the back of my fuel tank and it would start right up.

RE: Maybe Fuel Pump maybe Timing???
Im exhausted, I;ve been working on truck all morning.
I picked up new AC Delco spark plugs at NAPA, i get home i realize instead of the CR 43TS i usually put in and that is advised in the manaul, they gave me R 42TS. I called them up and they said that the car should start with them in either way. I just put them in, still no start. I am pretty sure i have fuel pressure. I still think it might be flooded though. Is there another way to unflood the engine?
I feel like giving up, i just want to have a reliable truck. Ugh, i'll just deal with what i can afford. Why Wont it start though?
There are two relays where the fuel pump relay is, what is the other one for?

RE: Maybe Fuel Pump maybe Timing???
hey, just wondering. Does the 92 blazer have an Inertia Switch?
Thats basically a fuel pump shut off switch that shuts off the fuel pump in the case of a collision.

RE: Maybe Fuel Pump maybe Timing???
Had a 93 Centry had same issue
went as far as putting in a new fuel pump and still no start
checked all the gounds and they seemed fine
Went and added two more grounds to the fuel system (sending unit mount to frame and engine to frame)
then IT WAS ALIVE
sometimes the grounds on the fuel system are just not enough I have found. And where the relays mount the factory grounds end up with bad wires and dont ground out right.
Its worth a shot.

defintly worth trying
but does anyone know if there is an inertia switch on these trucks?

RE: Maybe Fuel Pump maybe Timing???
As far as I know that is a Ferd (FORD) item only. I have yet to come across a GM with one.
And yet again if yours is that 92 you have listing in your sig, I would have to surely say no.

RE: Maybe Fuel Pump maybe Timing???
Ok, so after another long day of working on my truck, trying to figure out if it was my timing, I gave it a woot and tried starting fluid again. I sprayed a good 5-7 seconds in the air filter, gave it a turn and wham I had it started. Of course it just died out after 2 or 3 seconds, but it started! I did this consecutively for like 5 times and each time it started up after a couple of cranks, and then just died out. I am assuming it is my fuel pump. But i did, as i said before, find the relay burnt up...could it be that it shorted out and went bad. I want to take it out maybe tomorrow. How can I check that its working when I take it out. Can I take my jumper pack and connect the power to it, and the ground to the black to see if i goes on? Any other ways?
I am about to order an AC Delco pump off ebay, heres the link: AC Delco Fuel Pump - eBay
If it turns out that i dont need the new one, i'll just return it.
What you guys think?
