New to site
I am a 1st time owner of a chevy. I purchased a 2003 S10, 2 dr. one year ago this month. Only major problem I've had was the locking actuator on the tailgate/window broke. Repair facility had to trash the inside tail gate panel to get to the part therefore, requiring me to pay for a replacement panel along with the lock actuator . Isn't there any other way to get to that part without breaking the inside panel apart? Other than that, I love my truck!

Funny, I have the exact same truck purchased one year ago this month, which leads me to believe that this will happen to me. What exactly is the part that broke, is it the one in that other post?

Hello Canadian88. Yes, I think it's the same part - I threw everything in the dumpster about 4 days after the repair. If you want, I can get the part number from the repair order. The lock actuator broke with no advanced warning - worked one minute and broke the next. I was getting groceries out of my truck - live in a condo so locked up the truck between two trips into house.
I am going to keep the information you linked me to for future. I am also going to ask my local dealership body shop person(s) what they would have done.
By the way, where in Canada are you from? I am originally from Fargo, ND.
