I really don't think that there is much of anything in the realm of performance parts for the 2.8L. It really is a dog of an engine. Most 2.8L equiped S-series trucks have a quick swap over to the 3.4L engine which will drop right in...

They're great engines that have been around for many many years, but they are slow. Edelbrock, Comp Cams, FlowMaster, most companies make SOMETHING for the 2.8. A 3.4L swap would be sweet IMO

The 2.8L in the CTS is lightyears ahead of the 2.8L in the s-series vehicles. Hardly a comparison at all. The only commonality is the fact that they are both 2.8L... I mean... It's a 24valve engine with variable valve timing and an aluminum block. I am also sure that the bore/stroke isn't even the same as the old 2.8L.

Only the fullsize caddy's get the Northstar. The v6 models are considered the shortstar. Very capable little engines for a small car. The CTS is available with a 2.8L 24valve VVT with 210hp/194ftlb of torque for under $30k. The higher end CTS is available with a 3.6L 24valve VVT with 255hp/252ftlb.
