yeah, you can get the K&N's for a pretty good price on ebay which i why i have a K&N instead of AEM... about $70 cheaper

Okay, as stated above i think i'm going to buy a no name for the piping, make my own heat shield, and buy the k&n filter separately. Thanks a lot guys. I'm so glad I found this forum. Thanks for helping an automotive n00b out.

the heat shield in tripleblack's DIY CAIa lot likethe K&N heat shield. they use the same mounting points and they look VERY similar. His looks like it is deeper (taller) than the K&N. His instructions explain it pretty clearly too.
