Default Flowmasters 40 series poll

Seems like everyone is pretty happy with the 40 series mufflers. Ordered mine today from a local muffler shop for $90.00 plus tax w/ free installation. How do you like the Flowmasters 40 series?

3" exhaust? Also are you keeping the stock catalytic converter? Makes the difference... I'm TOLD its a very aggressive sound, but performance wise a great choice.

Yeah, I guessI will keep the stock convertor. What would you all recommend? I was also thinking of putting one of those nice exhaust tips on too. Does the exhaust need to be 3 inches. Thanks Dory

The Flowmaster is being put on as I speak. Also bought a nice chrome attachment for the exhaust. They are going to run it as a straight pipe instead of the factory bend to the right. Hope it sounds ok. Will post when I get it in a couple hours. [8D]

Well , Let me say I am not disappointed. For 90 dollars this is the best mod I have added. The sound is pretty deep and rumbly. At takeoff the engine really sounds off and smooths out at around 45-50. As for Flowmaster 40 series, a definite A+. They also put on a nice pipe chrome attachment and straightened it to come out directly from the back bumper instead of the l shaped piping stock., Looks great will post some pics when I get my digital cam back.

have 40 series 3" split to dual...little loud for my taste on a 6 cyl. but it sounds pretty good. Acceleration improved when above 2500 rpm but feels like it lost power below that. Heard going to a more aggresive cam improves lower power band problems but I don't know if I want to get into all of that. I've decided that there are enough potential problems with Blazers from my experience to put too much more into mods when I never know what I am going to have to fix next. But that's just me.
