Help and Tips on How to Replace Donut Gaskets on Y Pipe
Alright im pretty much sure that when i had my y pipe swapped over from my other 4.3 that had over 160,000 miles on it and added another 15,000 to it my y pipe donuts are shot. You can hear my exhaust leak coming from there along with smoke when sea foaming. Has anyone done it and have any tips on how to do it or is it pretty much just undo the 3 bolts pull the old one out and put the new one in and re tighten? Thanks for the help in advance!

yeah basically. you said you already had those bolts out recently? the biggest problems i always have is the exhaust studs breaking i pretty much always heat them up with a torch first unless they look like brand new.
my 1990 is the same way, im trying to prolong it as long as i can cause those studs hardly have any thread on them

abig84 pretty much summed it up. Since you've had it apart already, it should be very straight forward.

Just the three bolts (per side) like you said. Use never-sieze on the studs (a tip i should've used myself). I Have a bad habit of breaking stuff.
