Hey guys, i'm seriosuly thinking about putting in a 2" body lift kit on my 2000 4-door 4x4. The one thing I have a question about is how big of tires would I be able to fit? Would I be able to fit 32's without rubbing? I know if I do the lift I wanna get somthing bigger than 31's on it so that basically is the main factor in my decision.

If anyone has done this same mod or has any info please let me know! I'd love to get the kit in before winter.

From what I've read you can fit 31" without any rubbing. 32" would rub, but you could trim your fenders to fix that.

You could also do a 2" suspension lift or go all out with a 5-6" suspension lift but that costs a bunch. I think the best you could do is 31's with little to no rubbing or do some fender triming and wheel spacers for 32's or a bigger lift.

 

^^^^^ Couldn't have said it better myself. Just the one thing i always want to make sure everyone is aware of is that if you do the 2" suspsension lift that it involves adjusting the torsion bars which can cause front end wear.

In all honesty if you want to do 32's and still keep you vehicle as a dependable DD go with the body lift and trim or just stick to 31's, its only a half inch of lift difference.

 

What would I have to all cut to make the 32's work? I am willing to make some mods, just nothing extreme. Would it just invlove cutting the front plastic or what??

 

What you have to cut is the rear part of the front fender. This linkwas posted in another thread but it actually has some good pictures of what you will need to do. They show a body lifted and torsion bar cranked blazer. If you are just doing a body liftyou might have to trim just a touch more but the same principles should apply.

 

Heres a thread to the new 32" tires I just put on. I have a 2" Bl and 1.5" t-bars cranked/shackles and I only had to do minor trimming to make it not rub with daily driving. I still plan to trim more for off roading though. From what I've seen mud flaps seem to cover the trimming the best to where you can't even tell.
