Default Did my t-bar crank, have some questions

Okay so I did my t bar crank today the only thing that worries me is that one of the bolts is all the way tight and the other one has some room to be tightened more if this is an issue will someone please let me know .... anyways both sides have the same gap which is from the top of the tire to the fender it is 7" and I think it looks pretty bad *** I have to get an alignment still but other than that I think it looks good. What do you all think?

awsome, the bolt thing is quite common , for one t bar to be slightly
weaker than the other, that seems normal.. each full turn is about 1/4"
of lift....good job

thanks for the answer about the bolts that has been driving me nuts lol and thanks

Had an idea but not sure if parts exist for it or if it will be possible here is my idea:

Rear leaf springs that give me 2" of lift ( don't know if these exist for a 1st gen )
2" rear lift shackles
3" PA body lift

So that would give me a total of 7" of lift in the rear only problem is I don't know what to do in order to get 7" of lift in the front or if doing the rear like that is even possible without buying all kinds of extra parts ( I already know I will need a steering stabilizer ) if someone could give me an idea of what all I would need and where to find the leaf springs that would be great, Thanks. Over all goal would be to run 4.56 gears and 38's

Only need to gain 2 more inches in the front to make 7" due to 2" t bar crank and 3" body lift equals 5" so any way to do gain 2" ideas please. Thanks

no, I don't know much about first gen lifts, I believe there's a 5" lift so you could do that and 2" bl. You still won't fit 38's nor will your axles and other suspension components hold up to 38's. 33's are the max you should go for.

Yeah I am not going to pay 1,500 minimum all the way up to $2,500 for a 5" suspension lift and I can understand the tires that's no issue I will be fine with 33's I think I am just going to do a 3" body lift ($130) along with 2" rear lift shackles ($80) and my 2" t bar tweak for a total of 5" of lift and just run a 3.73 gear ratio I am going to use Yukon high performance gears ($705 for both front and rear) to handle the bigger tire size. So for a total of $915 plus maybe a few extra parts for installing the gears that I may be missing say around $1,000 - $1,100 and I am still going to get the same amount of lift as I would from the big name brands and have better gears for the bigger tires most of my money will be spent on tires but I need new tires anyway so it all works out in the long run.

3 bl and cranked 1.5 in the front on mine and I run 31s. Might be able to fit bigger by cutting up the front fenders. I've had a s-series on 33s and replaced the parts, I wouldn't suggest anything over 32s unless its only driven on the street or you are lucky enough to find a cast iron zr2 front diff to swap in.

$2500 for a 5 inch kit that keeps the weak front end is crazy. I have about $1000 in 2 axles, leaf springs(front), and the steel for my brackets. The only things I have left is the astro steering box and I'm good to go for 5 inches of lift and ready for countless upgrades.

89Recon,
I have combined two of your threads concerning the lift. Please keep it all in one thread so folks can follow what you are trying to do.
Thanks
