Lifting my 2000 2wd blazer
I sent my 2000 2WD Chevy Blazer S10 to Off Road Concepts to get lifted. As far as a suspension lift kit all they said they had was a 2inch lift by Rough Country. Well I just got my blazer back and they said they were able to get about 3 1/2 inches out of it which is cool, but now the smooth ride i had is completely gone. It feels smooth when you don't hit any bumps, but the second you do my truck is bouncing ALL over the place. Is this normal? a couple of my friends said no.

even though you got 3.5 inches of lift it sounds like they put some 3 inch lift coils up front, once they settle it may drop a little bit...but anyone who's ever had 3inch coils on a 2wd s10 or blazer will tell you they ride like crap, especially over bumps since they are so stiff...hope you didnt spend too much on it, 3 inch lift spindles would have given you the same lift and not affected your ride quality at all, but only if you were willing to downgrade to the s10 pick up style brakes.

yeah dude especially on speed bumps thats when they are the worst. I spent 750 on the lift with parts and labor. I was looking into doing a suspension lift and a body lift before i put bigger tires so i could go with the biggest option. Will the coils being so stiff affect the engine over a long period of time? It feels awful and I have to drive really slow.

well if you plan on lifting it more in the front you only have 2 options left after the coils...you can get 3 inch lift spindles (about 270 shipped off ebay) and put on s10 pick up brakes or do a 2 inch body lift...or both if you want to run 33's, then for the rear you'd have do a SOA for about 4.5 inches then you could add blocks or shackles for an extra 2 inches...and about the rough ride, do you know what kind of shocks they put on your blazer? maybe you could upgrade...and as far as the stiff ride affecting the engine it should be fine but it depends on how drive you might break a motor mount

have you looked into the LT kit from airbagit.com the problem is theres 3" of lift on stock control arms, or at least thats my thoughts. and from what i read the short arm kit is just stock size tube C arms.

what specific break parts need to be replaced from the s10 to the blazer for the spindle lift 3.5'' spindle lift to work on a 2000 2wd blazer?
