Default solid axle swapping a 1989 s10 blazer

so i wanted to lift my blazer and i saw a lot of solid axle swaps but was unsure of what was needed and how to do it for my situation. i wanted to run 35 inch tires with 12 inches of lift. but how do i know how much lift i have?
