Does anyone know where to get a lift kit for the 1st gens? Specifically like a 6" for a 94. Rough Country (and pretty much everybody else) says theirs won't fit.
Thanks N.Jensen, I did see the 2.5 lift from RC. Just wanted to go a little bigger. Thanks for the other one too, never saw that one. I'd have to find someone who had some skills to help me out. I don't think I've ever even touched a welder, so fabricating isn't in my repertoire.
Thanks guys, yes, i might be the spring thats saggy, previous owner has been hauling a horsebox alot...
I was thinking even longer shackles, but maybe they get much stress if you go seriously off road.? And another bonus if i axle flip, is that i get rid of the damper brackets and u-bolt ends pointing downwards and like to stick on tree stumps😲
Today i tried a little cheat at the rearend problem, i flipped the bottom leaf in the stack. On my car it was turned 'sad face' like an auxillary helper spring, so it made it 'smiley', and really, i got about half an inch more height!. Not much, but free 😊
Before
anyone got a comprehensive list of parts for lift kits.
like part brands and numbers that would give me a 2-3" lift.
Shocks
shackles
torsion keys
control arms
from all the research on here ROUGH COUNTRY makes a 2.5" lift kit (second generation) and also includes upper control arms and shocks, shackles, and front diff relocation bracket. its listed on the first page at the top of the thread you just need to read. you can also do a cheap lift with torsion bar tweak in the front and shackles in the rear.
I'm planning on doing the 2.5" Rough Country lift with a 3" body lift as well
Also a steering stabilizer kit
Nerf bars
Bumper Relocation brackets
and 33x10.5x15 Bfg Ta k/o2 tires
here is the link to my build so far before the lift
