1996 4 3l v6 alternator wiring
OK so I am looking at a 1996 4.3L vortec engine donated from a Blazer and now sitting in a 1981 Toyota pickup truck? Where does the Nissan van fit into this situation?
Im trying to help you but there are dozens of alternator wiring set ups that work with different dash electrical circuits, regulators, etc. across all the manufacturers, years and engines and I don’t understand the vehicle and engine combination here. It looks like your connecting two wires to a 4 wire alternator connector and I have no idea where those two wires came from or as I said, what engine this is, it’s year, the vehicle it’s in and it’s year.

Yes its a 4pin plug thats has only one wire coming out of it. Then I have the post with the red wire going to battery
I was trying to figure out what NS3500 is and what that has to do with this. Van, transmission, …
You didn’t answer my questions about voltages to see what’s going on with the system so we don’t even know if the alternator is turning on. Some alternators do not just turn on and start charging because the pulley is turning.
It matters what vehicle this is in, the year and style of the alternator and what’s going on with the rest of the wiring because there is more to a working charging system than just getting the output terminal to the battery. The alternator has to turn on and be regulated properly which is what some of the rest of the wires do and there are many different types of systems that do this.
As I mentioned earlier, be careful what you hook directly to the battery, it is capable of delivering hundreds of amps instantly which can be dangerous.
I’m sorry that I was not able to help you. I hope that you get it figured out.

I really like helping people fix their trucks and I was trying to help you but this set up is confusing as to vehicle and year, it’s wiring, engine type (Blazers also have 2.2L engines) and year, it’s alternator and year, 2 wire, 4 wire, etc. and I needed to know the details to get your charging system working. I usually use my electrical engineering degree and 51 years of vehicle rebuilding and repair experience to translate some of this stuff for members here, especially electrical concepts which appear to be some of the most confusing for people. Since you are not happy with my questions and my ability to grasp your situation, I will give you the tools to figure it out yourself. Below is a very comprehensive article on how all of this works, the solution to your problem will be found in these technical details and this is a good reference for future members surfing this thread. It’s way more than most probably want to know about how alternators and charging systems work but some may find it useful. You can have one of many problems:
alternator is dead
alternator is wired wrong
bad belt or improper tension
Vehicle wiring is faulty
battery is faulty
there is no excitation field current at alternator startup to initiate charging
there is improper regulator function to control output
blown rectifier diodes
system load is excessive
etc.
Here is The article, best of luck. Once you master this stuff, you can come back here and help other members fix their electrical problems and you can ask whatever questions you wish:

the alternator wiring was cut, I was originally asking if I spliced into the right wire for the alternator 4plug harness. Or you can call the voltage sensor wire
Imma hit a junkyard soon and pull an alternator( to eliminate the issue if alternator did failed or it is just wiring) also to look at the stock wiring.
Hopefully this clears up this abit better.
