Probably the first thing to check is to see if there are any other vehicle systems that should run on ignition, but are coming on with Acc. If so, then likely your problem is in the ignition switch.

Check the oil pressure switch by the distributor. Also, you can pull fuse #9 (20A ECM fuse) and see if it stops running. If it does, that would point to the oil pressure switch.

Thanks, I read something about that. I like the fuse idea. Just can't have that pump running on in accessory position .ie drive in theater ect

Believe it or not, I just purchased this vehicle a month ago. The previous owner owned it for about 12 years, in a farm setting. they did very little upkeep on anything that broke. So I changed the oil& filter and that cured the oil pressure switch from staying stuck. AND at the same time cured the fuel pump running in accessory position..
I agree with you that the oil pressure switch was the culprit. THANKS DAVE

Sweet! It's always nice when the fix turns out to be something easy.

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to change the rest of the fluids while you're at it.
