Adding a set of LED blinkers
not exactly. what i meant by saying the rear works off the "interrupter" circuit is that the rear brakes and blinkers use the same hot wires. same thing with the trailer plug wires. there isnt a dedicated wire for the blinkers in either of them. so when you hit the brake pedal both lights in the back turn on; when you have the blinker on, it "interrupts" the power to the side that you are indicating to, so that it will flash.
if you remember seeing the taillights that have the amber turn signals in them, those would have a dedicated blinker wire. but even then, the trailer plug is going to be wired the same. thats why if you have a trailer, or seen one, that has a side blinker, it will light up with the brakes as well because it uses the same hot wires to activate like the truck with the regular taillights.
i hope that makes sense.

Nobody would happen to know which wires run to the trailer harness from the front/engine bay would they? I got a 60ft roll of 18G today just in case I need to run the wire from the front to back, but what I'd really like to do is just D/C the wire from the relay and run a few feet to the front blinkers. Of course I have no idea where this is, and it has decided to start raining just as I get back from Radio Shack...
