Default power rear view mirror control

I just notice today that my controls for my rear view mirrors are acting funny... I can only get them to move right or left, and every once in a while get them to move up or down... This comes after haven to fight with the directional controls for a while.... In the past I'v had issues with water leaking in frm the top of my door when ever it rain, and of course that's where it would end up... Is there any way that I can fix my control buttons or would I just have to replace the whole thing... I really don't want to if I don't have to... I priced it at autozone and its gonna run me about 100 bucks with the taxes... Please me!!!!!!

It's not that nobody knows... It's just that we're all busy...

You're headed in the right direction. Water on the switch commonly causes corrosion inside. You could try to dismantle it and clean the contacts, but most people end up replacing them.

If you do take it apart, snap some pictures and put a little writeup together if you would, then post it in the Article Submission/Discussion section.
