Default blower motor cooling tube

I think that's what its called. I just cut out my old blower motor, what a bizarre procedure btw.

Anyhow, I of course got unlucky and cut through what I think is called a "cooling tube". Its a rubber tube that goes from the side of the blower motor into a plastic box behind the dash.

I was going to try just patching or gluing the old one but I really don't know what this tube does. I also can't find a replacement.

The picture of the tube in the instructions with the new blower motor is different from my old one. The pic shows one elbow, mine has two.

Anyone ever run into this?

Well I ended up sealing the 1" cut I made with an inner-tube repair kit I had in the garage. I cut a strip, glued it, and then tightly wrapped the whole thing in electrical tape. I think the tube is a way of supplying air to the electric motor side of the whole blower motor assembly. Its not under pressure. I don't know where the air comes from that cools it.
