Broken hazard button and now no break lights or turn signals
If the hazard button is not reparable, then you'll likely need to replace the whole multi-function switch assembly. You can order them from most parts websites, or you could probably get a used one from a u-Pull type place. It's possible to do the job with common hand tools, and the procedure depends on what year and model vehicle you have.
Broadly you'll need to:
Hope this helps.
Broadly you'll need to:
- Remove the lower dash panel to access the connector plug for the multi-function switch. I believe it's connected with an 8mm retaining bolt.
- Remove the steering column cover. There will be 2-3 torx bolts (I think T25?) holding it together, then several clips to separate it. You'll also need to unclip the key cover over the ignition assembly to remove the steering column cover.
- Unbolt the multi-function switch. If I remember correctly it has 2 6mm bolts attaching it.
Hope this helps.
