Default CB and radar detector

Would I be able to run the hot and ground for a CB radio and a radar detector to the hot and ground on my stereo wiring kit? Or would it be more practical to wire one each to the accessory outlets with a switch? I can't decide.

They would probably draw too much amperage for the wiring kit and blow fuses left and right. Generally, when I add a lot of accessories, I'll hook into the accessory fuse for a trigger wire and put in a 30 amp relay. It will have plenty of capacity for just about anything shy of a huge monster amp and will draw straight from the battery.

Run a hot wire from the battery to the relay. Add a fuse in the circuit before the relay, I usually use a 25 amp for safety unless I need more. Then run a trigger wire off the switch so when you shut the car off, the power is off too. You now have a power supply for the detector and radio.

+1

And if that doesn't work buy a 12V power supply splitter and just plug em into that. It just plugs into the cig lighter and splits off to 2 plugs. If the cb didn't come with the cig plug they are usually under $10 at most places, easiest to find at a truck stop and no cutting or splicing....just plugs into the radio.
