Custom key fob actions?
#1
So I was wondering if anyone has done this:
It's always bothered me the when I lock my truck with the key FOB it does not flash the taillights and the corner lights like it does when I unlock it
I recently installed some LED off-roading lights on my truck and I though could I make these flash when I lock the truck?
I mean how hard of a process could it be?
I figure This is how it works:
Step 1. I hit the button on my key FOB
Step 2.The FOB transmits the signal to a receiver
Step 3.Receiver decodes signal
Step 4.Receiver activates a relay
Step 5.Relay sends power to door locks
Step 6.And voila doors are locked
If this theory is correct could I not just splice the wire that activates relay in step 4 and have it activate another relay to flash the lights?
I wouldn't be worried about battery problems because it's only a flash of light and since they are LED they are only like 18W a piece
So id really like to do this but can anyone point me on where to find the receiver in the truck for the key FOB and maybe a writing schematic for it to see where to splice?
Any questions or comments are greatly appreciated

It should, at least it always has on my '02. Even after I got the remote start installed the marker lights flash when I lock/unlock with the fob.
Get a remote starter & make sure you ask them to make the marker lights flash when you lock/unlock the truck. Remote starters are great & probably around $250 installed depending on other options you want on their fob. Like rear hatch, doors, rear window defroster.
