Is there anyway this is possible? I have hids and need to do it the easiest way possible. Pulling fuses would be best if possible but which one

i have a 2000. i saw to bend pin 86 on the drl relay under the hood. i did that, it was somewhat getting dark out but not too dark. the HIDs stayed on (lows). which is the problem i am having before bending pin 86. could the auto headlight sensor of went bad?

Shine a flash light on the sensor or a phone flashlight works even better, it'll take a little bit for it to change to daylight running if the sensor works.

i did that last night at dusk using a dewalt 18v flashlight. nothing. the hids stayed on. naturally today is overcast and cloudy so i dont know if i can judge it today. if the sensor were to be bad, where can i get another at besides gm, or a junk yard
